Feed The City

At Rockharbor, we are so excited about this upcoming event, Feed the City, an opportunity for our community to come together and make a difference. This event aims to support the Meridian Food Bank by providing essential food items to those in need. There are two ways to get involved, each giving a chance to spread kindness and support those facing food insecurity in our community.

How to Get Involved:

- Donate Food on March 3rd or 10th

We encourage you to bring food items to Rockharbor that will be donated to the Meridian Food Bank. Items such as canned meat, peanut butter, pasta, pasta sauce, cereal, and Mac and cheese are greatly needed and will impact families in our community.

- Shop and Donate at Albertsons on March 16th

Visit various Albertsons grocery stores across the valley and purchase food items to be donated. After your shopping, bring the items back to the donation tables outside of the stores, where they will be collected and distributed to those in need.

3 Reasons to get involved:

1. Spread Love and Compassion

By getting involved with Feed the City, you can extend a hand of love and compassion to families struggling with food insecurity. Your act of generosity can bring hope and relief to those facing difficult circumstances, showing them that they are not alone.

2. Build a Stronger Community

Serving others through events like Feed the City strengthens the bonds within our Community Groups and families. When we come together to support others, we encourage a community of caring people, dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those around us. We can build a stronger, more connected community that values service and compassion.

3. Mimick Jesus

Serving others is a foundational aspect of being a disciple of Jesus. Matthew 25:35-36, Jesus says, "For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes, and you clothed me." By serving with Feed the City, we embody the spirit of Jesus by caring for those in need, showing love, and extending a helping hand to the marginalized and vulnerable in our society.

As we prepare to come together for Feed the City, let us remember the words of Galatians 6:9, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Your participation in this event has the power to sow seeds of kindness, compassion, and hope in our community, creating a ripple effect of positive change that will be felt far and wide.
