Our Beliefs

We live in a world full of competing voices and shifting values. But at Rockharbor Church, we are rooted in foundational truths guided by God's Word.

The Bible

God wrote the book

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
2 Timothy 3:16

God

God is great

We believe in one God, existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority.
Genesis 1:1, 26

Jesus Christ

God became man

Jesus Christ is completely human but, at the same time, completely God.  He is the only plan for bringing people who are far from God back into right relationship wtih God.  He lived a perfect life, so that He could be a substitute for us in satisfying God’s demands for perfection.
John 1:1, 14

Holy Spirit

God is always present

We believe that the Holy Spirit was sent into the world by the Father and the Son to apply to mankind the saving work of Christ.
John 14:16-17

Man

God's image bearers

We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God.
Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 3:23

Salvation

God's only way

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins and that He rose victoriously from the grave; all those who accept His gift of salvation by faith alone will be saved.
John 3:16

The Church

God's design for community

We believe that there is one family of God, comprised of all those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  We believe that the Scripture teaches His children to gather together in local assemblies, called Churches.
Acts 2:42-47

Jesus' Return

God is coming back

We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Eternity

Somewhere forever

Man was created to exist forever.  He will exist either eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation.  To be eternally separated from God is Hell.  To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven.  Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.
John 5:28-29
